Keeping Children Safe In Education – 2025
Online Safety at St Anne Stanley
At St Anne Stanley, keeping children safe online is a core part of our safeguarding culture. We teach pupils how to use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully, and we work closely with parents and carers to help children stay safe beyond the school gates.
Online safety is woven through our curriculum, our policies, and our daily practice. This page explains how we protect children online and how you can support your child at home.
How We Keep Children Safe Online in School
Filtering & Monitoring
We use Smoothwall to block harmful or inappropriate content and to alert staff to potential risks. These systems are overseen by:
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Mrs. Lovell
- Deputy DSL(s): Mrs. Riley, Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Kenwright
- Online Safety Lead: Mr. McHugh and Miss Broughton
- Safeguarding Governor: Mr. Stephen Whittaker
Our filtering and monitoring meet the DfE’s 2023 Filtering & Monitoring Standards and are reviewed regularly.
Staff Training
All staff receive annual safeguarding training, including online safety, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). Updates are provided throughout the year as new risks emerge.
Acceptable Use Agreements
All pupils, staff, and visitors sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that sets clear expectations for safe and responsible use of technology.
Reporting Concerns
If you are worried about a child’s online behaviour or safety, please contact:
- Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs. Lovell
- Deputy DSL(s): Mrs. Riley, Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Kenwright
You can also report concerns directly to CEOP if you believe a child is at risk of online abuse.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Creating a safe digital environment.
- Teaching children to be confident, responsible digital citizens.
- Working in partnership with families.
- Reviewing our online safety practice regularly.
