Welcome back everyone! What a fantastic start we have had to the year!
In our English lessons we are really enjoying reading our class text ‘Storm’ by Kevin Crossley Holland. We have enjoyed writing our own diary entries, letters to the head teacher and stories. We have learnt what personification and alliteration means and how to include them in our writing. We have also explored how successful authors ‘hook’ the reader and we are applying some of these techniques in our own writing.
We are really enjoying the variety of mental maths games we play in year 3. They are helping us learn our 3,4 and 8 times tables, number bonds and how to have fun with numbers!
In Design Technology we have been learning about Healthy diets. We looked at the different food groups and the effects they have on our bodies. We then designed and made our own fruit cocktails!
Better By Bus
We have been lucky enough to be involved in the Better by Bus campaign. This involved a lovely assembly to help us understand the many benefits of travelling by bus.
During Art week we were lucky enough to have a local artist come into our school to work with us on a project. We made Christmas decorations out of clay which we have painted and sealed. We are sure they will look fantastic on our Christmas trees at home!
Our History topic is The Stoneage and we have really enjoyed learning facts about that period of time and have even made our own cave paintings! We have loved learning about Skara Brae and Stonehenge!
