We have a new outdoor role play area.
Fantastic creative skills! A new coat for Freda the puppy made whilst he was at home with one of the children.
We visited St Anne’s Church to see how the Church prepared for Christmas.
Whilst there two children were surprised with Governors awards.
Super focus and concentration whilst making Christmas decorations.
Stay and Play
The focus was measuring and comparing objects whilst using the language of longer and shorter. The longest paper chain was 23 loops long but this was beaten the following day by a group of children working together.
Underwater Street Visit
The children had a super day trying lots of different activities they hadn’t tried before.
We found out about Thanksgiving and decided to make stars to give to say thank-you.
Keeping active in the outdoors
We had a Phonic Workshop for Parents. Thanks to everyone who attended. If you have any queries following this session please don’t hesitate to come and speak to a member of staff.
Trying to free Spiderman from the web using tweezers.
Using tweezers makes us use the ends of our fingers which helps us to hold a pencil correctly to write or draw.
Miss Winrow is our Class Governor.
Miss Winrow calls in to class to see what we have been learning. Sometimes she gives us one of her special stickers.
Whilst making salt dough the children showed good listening, turn-taking, focus and concentration. This activity helped strengthen muscles in our fingers which will help with our writing development. By reading and following the recipe we had to use our phonic skills and counting skills otherwise it wouldn’t have worked. We will use the dough now for dough disco! I will put the recipe in the newsletter if you would like to try and make it at home.
We visited the local park to look for signs of Autumn. We found a tiny leaf hanging from a spider’s web which we tried to reach.
We also had the opportunity to show off our physical skills.
We found out that 5 children in our class all have a name beginning with “M/m”.
Using technology in the supermarket.
Spotting and recognising numbers.
Embedding maths in the outdoors. Measuring, counting and timing how many bounces we can do in one minute.
Many thanks to all the parents who supported Stay and Play. The focus was early writing and mark making.

Welcome to the new school year. The children are settling in really well, becoming familiar with routines and making new friends. Here are some of the activities we enjoy through the school day.
