Attendance, Sickness and Medical Appointments

Good attendance is essential if your child is to achieve the best results possible while at school. The Government expects pupils to have a minimum level of attendance of at least 97% and we at St Anne’s will be working towards this target for the forthcoming year.

  • Please be aware that barriers will continue to be in place in all playgrounds. This enables staff to safely greet and dismiss our children at the start and end of the school day.
  • Parents/Carers must not cross the barriers at any time, the safe handover of children is the main priority for staff.
  • Parents/Carers are able to telephone or e-mail the school office or class teacher, if they have any messages or queries.
  • Mrs Simons and Mrs Lovell will be on duty in the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds, at the start of the school day.
  • In the interest of health and safety, we politely ask that all Parents/Carers leave the school grounds as soon as their child/ren have been handed over to the relevant member of staff.

Sickness

In the event of your child being too ill to attend school, you should call the School Office as soon as possible to advise that your child will be absent. The Office is open from 8:00am and you should call no later than 8:45am, so the class teacher can be informed accordingly.

Upon returning to school the child should bring a letter explaining the reason for their absence together with any medical evidence.

Medical Appointments

All medical appointments should be made outside school attendance hours where possible. If appointments are made during the school day, we will need to see evidence of the appointment from the relevant doctors, dentists or hospitals.
